Today is Christmas Day of course! It’s a day for fun, laughter and celebrations.
However, 25th of December for me also has spiritual and religious significance. In my opinion, today is the day that one of the most outstanding individuals the world has ever witnessed was born on Earth. Rare is the birth of such a pure, selfless, yet powerful person as Jesus Christ.
As I was getting ready this morning, I was thinking about stuttering.
I was also thinking about my spiritual and religious beliefs.
What I know without a doubt is that my worry, tension and stresses about stuttering do not stand chance when faced with my strongest religious and spiritual beliefs.
There is within me a part where there is no worry or anxiety about anything, let alone stuttering.
You also have this part. You might already know it. If so, good for you! Enjoy it. On the hand you might be skeptical. But believe me, it’s true. Keep searching and you will find it.
You might not be religious.
You don’t need to be.
All you need to do is ask yourself “what do I believe in with all my heart?”
It might be the world or the universe. It might be your love for your mum, sister, brother or dog.
It could you affection for your friends. Perhaps it’s work for helping the starving people in Africa or the homeless in your area.
Whatever it is for you, I urge you to keep going there.
Dwell in your most powerful feelings, until they become a part of you. When you catch yourself get nervous about stammering or dreading this of that, remind yourself what you really, really believe in.
Stammering can’t even get in the way of this.
Peace.
