I don’t know about you – but I find it incredibly hard to keep to my five a day. Of fruit and veg that is. I mean, scoffing on a banana isn’t too much of a chore, but as the day progresses, munching my way on to an apple or pear gets a little difficult. Give me a bar of Snickers, and I know which one I’d choose. And that’s me still at work! Coming home, there’s a big starter plate full of salad to crack on to. Now, I do quite enjoy my greens, but only if it’s been seasoned. All that boiled or steamed stuff just doesn’t reach the core of my yearning tummy. I think I’d rather drink a tea-spoon of cough mixture than toddle my way through broccoli, sprouts and celery.
The strangest part about all of this is Christmas Day. Lay a table full of cranberries, leek, potatoes, carrots, and so on, and I can plumage through it before you can say Happy Christmas!
So, looks like I’ll have to wait another four months before I can reach my goal of five a day. How about you? Have you been good to your tummy, or good to your taste buds?
